In an official address to Bulgarian citizens, members and supporters of Velichie, the Chair of the party, Albena Pekova, announced its candidates for the forthcoming elections for President and Vice-President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
“Dear Bulgarian citizens,
Dear members and supporters of Velichie,
Dear friends,
Today I am addressing you to announce an important decision concerning our party’s participation in the forthcoming presidential and vice-presidential elections in the Republic of Bulgaria.
Over the past few weeks, we conducted an internal poll and consultation among Velichie’s members and supporters. It was important for us to hear the people’s views and to understand whom they wanted to represent us in the forthcoming presidential campaign. The two candidates received more than 90 per cent of the votes.Therefore, today, as Chair of Velichie Political Party, I formally announce:
Our candidate for President of the Republic of Bulgaria is Ivelin Mihaylov.
Our candidate for Vice-President of the Republic of Bulgaria is Yuliana Mateeva.
I call on Velichie’s local and regional organisations, as well as our members, supporters and volunteers across Bulgaria and abroad:
A great deal of work lies ahead.
Let us conduct this campaign with dignity.
Let us remain consistent.
Let us remain organised.
Let us stay close to the people.
Let us listen more than we speak.
And let our actions show the kind of political culture we want to see in Bulgaria.
Let the Bulgarian people make their own decision.
I wish Ivelin Mihaylov and Yuliana Mateeva strength and wisdom in the forthcoming campaign.
My wish for all of us is that we emerge from this campaign as a more organised, better-prepared and stronger team.
